Rostov na Donu

I have made it. I am in Russia!!!
I have have been here 4 days... whoo hoo!! It has been so fun, great but hard and different as well. I feel somewhat on a emotional rollercoaster these days as everything is so new.
Here are a few highlights.
There is a team of young people here from Belarus (they speak Russian) They are great, so friendly and willing to try and speak to me and teach me. They do different things in the city but here at the base they have been running a kids camp which I can sort of help out with, unless one of the kids tries to talk to me...
Playing volleyball... when everyone is speaking another language it really changes how aware you are and have to be of your sourroundings... as they could be warning me, but unless they literally pushed me, that ball could hit me anyway, as I would have no idea what they are saying. I have not been hit yet...
The zoo... when I got there I was way underdressed as all the russians are dressed to the nines... in their sunday best. It is a real specail outing. They also all bring cookies to feed to the animals, I saw them throwing them to everything to Flamingoes to lions to polar bears... i got to pet the buffalo and all the different kids of deer. I could have even touched the vultures if I would have dared to put my hand through the fence...

That is all for now, PAKA, BYE!
